What is Ventiv Claims?

Ventiv Claims is a claims administration system that is comprised of one or more Claims Management modules and a variety of supporting modules, including Absence Management, Enterprise Legal Management, Workers’ Compensation, Policy Management, Billing Management, Claims Intelligence, Corrective Action Plans, and Incident Reporting. The system was designed as a claims management system from the perspective of claims examiners. Designed to make it easy to manage claims, it includes functionality like diaries, business rules, workflow management, notepads, and financial management. Ventiv Claims enables users to define custom workflows tailored to each client’s specific business process, to make claim, document, and policy administration more efficient.

Ventiv Claims offers an “out of the box” solution to clients. At the same time, the Ventiv Claims architectural design was developed with the fundamental requirement of flexibility to adapt to meet the changing business requirements of clients. The system modules, fields, interfaces, and reports are user configurable so that Ventiv Claims can be adjusted to meet most organizational processes without custom programming.

We use IRM and Digital to automate and track exposure information. To ease administration the Digital forms tool is deployable to individuals who don't necessarily need to be full users of the IRM system which eases the administrative burden among other positive aspects.

We have also used RiskConsole/IRM to track asbestos claim dollar across multiple policy years.

  • Our company owns the claim data, we don't need to rely on paying access fees to discontinued TPAs
Our main use surrounded the tracking of historic toxic tort claims that spanned multiple policy years. One of our carriers internally has the same capabilities but limits access to their systems to only a very high summary basis. By housing claims within the IRM system we can track those claims and spread losses across multiple policy years to validate the lead carrier spreading of losses.

Ventiv provides great customer service and assistance from our Customer Service Manager. Easy to use helpdesk ticket submission. Need improvement on turn around time for assistance with troubleshooting and response.

Ventiv Claims is our Claims Management System for all of our workers' compensation programs both internal and external. The entire program uses Ventiv Claims System. Ventiv Claims allows us to manage our workers' compensation claims effectively and efficiently. Ventiv Claims allowed us to combine 3 systems into one platform for claims management. We contine to use CE for all of our claims administration.

Ventiv Claims is a great solution for any Workers' Compensation and General Liability program. I do not have any scenarios for less than appropriate use. I think the system upgrade process could run smoother. Also product support in a timely fashion is lacking at times.

I find the overall experience good and I would highly recommend this to other companies as well as anyone in the business such as workers comp or data entry.

It is used as our primary business application across the company. It largely manages all of our client-facing activities. The business problem it addresses is it was (at the time of purchase, and possibly now) the only product that allowed us to manage virtually all of our client-facing activities due to its flexibility in configuration.
  • Allows us to be self-hosted.
  • Configurability.
  • The Sales Teams (account VPs) demonstrate far more urgency in action than the product Development/Support team.
  • New features are announced far before they are available, and, when they become available, it takes about a year before the features operate as expected; they also occasionally break other features.
  • The reporting out of Ventiv Claims is difficult to support. For many functions, we move to a different platform.
It is well suited for a company that needs significant customization, the problem is the customization is extremely expensive and the development of the customization is sub-optimal.

We currently use Claims Enterprise in our Risk Management department, where we have 15 employees who use it on a daily basis. CE allows our employees to adjudicate claims effectively and efficiently. There are many features that we don't use, but the system fits our needs very well. We recently implemented Digital which can be used outside of our department to submit claims. Implementing Digital has been a good experience, allowing us to cut down on claim entry into CE. There are small issues, but overall it has been a good experience.
  • Ability to review detailed claim information in a concise manner.
  • The schedule job works really well.
  • Able to retrieve claim information using the reporter tool.
  • The enhancement to the security feature is wonderful.
  • Most of my issues are with Digital. Users are able to select Submit more than once, they are able to type in fields that have a dropdown - which causes the claim to reject.
  • I would like for Correspondence setup to be a little more user friendly.
  • Easier way to download data from the reference table and the ability to filter on active records - as some tables can be quite voluminous.
Ventiv Claims Enterprise & Digital suits our needs. Since we are a small operation, there is not a lot more that we need. CE handles it very well.

We are using Ventiv Claims/Claims Enterprise, for our Self-Insured, Self-Administered Workers' Compensation Program for our 40,000 employees. Ventiv Claims is used for all aspects of our Workers' Compensation claims management from incident intake, to reserves, to payments, all documentation, all notes, lost time and restricted duty tracking, state forms, departmental form letters, electronic reporting to the state for FROIs, etc. We also use the Adhoc/Jasper Reporter to report our data and create dashboards.

  • Managing reserves and payments.
  • Ability to customize.
  • Little bugs/glitches that require a story, patch, or upgrade to fix.
  • Initial security setup was A LOT to set up on all the fields and the different security groups.

Ventiv Claims is mainly used by my Claims Dept. to process and pay worker's comp claims. Others within our company utilize the claims information as needed.
  • The claims system, IVOS/Claims Enterprise, is user friendly.
  • The Ventiv Claims technical support team is very knowledgeable and helpful.
  • They are nationwide and affiliated with many other companies, making new project implementations more efficient.
  • Upgrades can be difficult, as at times things you've fixed could now be wrong again.
  • Tech support sometimes hard for them to relate to "claims people" who have little if any Systems experience making some of the conversations difficult when there are problems.
I am only familiar with worker's compensation claims, and I believe their system does everything I need, and a lot more functions are there that we don't use yet. I believe it is well suited for small or large companies.
